The Center for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte) at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa is offering one (1) Research Grant for a PhD Student in the scope of the LiFi project: Living with Wildfire: imagining, narrating and acting upon a changing climate, funded by the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development, under the following conditions:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must hold a Master's degree in a Social Science field and be enrolled in a PhD program in Communication Sciences (in accordance with Article 6 of the Research Grant Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. (Reg. No. 950/2019).
PREFERENTIAL FACTORS
a) Completed a master's thesis on risk communication or environmental communication; or on a subject related to these two fields.
b) Experience in research and production of research on climate change risks, forest fires, representations, and impacts on communities and public policies;
c) Experience in interview analysis and qualitative discourse analysis;
d) Experience in participating in local or community research and development projects;
e) Proficiency in Portuguese and English.
DURATION
The scholarship lasts for 6 months, with the possibility of an extension up to 12 months, scheduled to start on September 1, 2025. The scholarship contract may be renewed within the term of the research project and in accordance with the provisions of Article 6(4) of the Research Scholarship Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. in force.
